Vote for Nina Zaslavsky

Ward 5 Trustee

Why Nina?

  • Nina has a proven record of achievement. When she sees a need she is the first to volunteer.

Nina's Agenda

  1. Addressing the need of the security in public schools. We must insure our children are safe from violence and sexual assaults. We need police or police-trained personnel in each school to protect our children.
  2. Promote student interest in higher education by involving retired and active university professors in after-school programs. It would be good for retirees and the students.
  3. Make school bags lighter by converting book content into electronic form. The cost of electronic devices is less than the cost of books.

  • Join Nina’s campaign. We need volunteers to ensure Nina’s election. We need a representative in each building to deliver promotional materials and to remind people to vote early on election day. We need volunteers to call for a sign location.

“I have known Nina Zaslvasky for many years and always found her a strong advocate for the community.”
- Monte Kwinter, MPP North York Center

“Nina has years of experience at City Hall which has helped to initiate projects like Innovation Forum, Toronto Russian Film Festival, Youth Media Club and many others. She organized a number of fundraising events in support of Women Shelter and The Community Association for Riders with Disabilities (CARD). As a member of my & my successor James Pasternack's office staff, she knows the needs of our constituents.”
- Mike Feldman, Former deputy Mayor and councillor Ward 10

“As a therapeutic riding Centre for children and adults, CARD has been the recipient of two fundraising Initiatives hosted by the Successful Woman Council, of which Nina is a Founding Director. It was with much appreciation and gratitude that these events raised needed funds for our riding program. Nina worked hard and tirelessly with her fellow committee members, to bring these two events to fruition.”
- Penny Smith, Executive Director. Community Association for Riders with Disabilities

“I am supporting Nina Zaslavsky because the Filipino-Canadian Community confidently knows that they can truly rely on Nina. She's been tested and proven for all her tremendous help with so many relevant programs!”
- Gerry C. Pasikatan, Lead Pastor, Filipino-Canadian Seventh-day Adventist Church

“One of the most interesting and memorable initiatives where we worked together as the team members was a training program designed for women-entrepreneurs. That program was supported by Scotia Bank. That experience is helping me today in my role as a Program Director at York Entrepreneurship Development Institute.”
- Oleg Amurjuev, PhD. Program Director, YEDI

“In my 10 years at Northview Heights SS Nina was the first to respond to the Bathurst Corridor student initiatives and helped immigrant parents a lot in understanding the new school system. She was always a passionate advocate of students’ rights and a true leader in organizing community to help schools and students. It is my pleasure and firm belief as teacher and a former safe school consultant of the Toronto District School Board to recommend Nina Zaslavsky for our Ward 5 Trustee.”
- Sacha Noukhovitch PhD, OCT. Executive Director and Editor-in-Chief, STEM Fellowship/STEM Fellowship Journal
